At St. Elizabeth Physicians, we believe that all women deserve healthcare providers who truly listen and understand the unique medical needs of women. Our fellowship-trained, board-certified urogynecologists provide high-quality, comprehensive care which is reflected in the devotion to the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, including:

  • Bladder Control Problems: Overactive bladder, urine leakage, difficulty emptying the bladder, interstitial cystitis and recurrent urinary tract infections
  • Bowel Control Problems: Constipation, diarrhea, irregular or hard bowel movements, abnormal stool consistency, fecal urgency or incontinence
  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse: A bulge, pressure or heavy sensation in the vagina that worsens by the end of the day or during bowel movements; trouble starting to urinate or a weak or spraying stream of urine or urine leakage with intercourse
  • Sexual Dysfunction: Chronic pelvic pain, low desire, or pain during intercourse

Surgical options for pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence may be utilized to correct the pelvic floor or repair damaged tissue or muscles. Many pelvic organ prolapse surgeries can be performed using minimally invasive surgery such as advanced laparoscopic and robotic approaches – allowing for faster healing with reduced scarring.

Non-surgical options recommended by our physicians may include:

  • Lifestyle and dietary changes
  • Medications
  • Physical therapy
  • Vaginal pessary

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms explained here, please call us to schedule an appointment at (859) 757-2132. We look forward to seeing you soon!
