Dr. Xia is a double board-certified general surgeon and surgical oncologist with special interests in GI, hepato-pancreato-biliary, skin/sarcoma, and adrenal surgery. He completed his surgical residency at the University of Cincinnati and a surgical oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center. He is the program director for the Hepatic Arterial Infusion Therapy program. As a high-volume pancreatic surgeon, he established the distinction of a National Pancreas Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence at St. Elizabeth. Dedicated to improving perioperative outcomes, he introduced robotic minimally invasive hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery to St. Elizabeth, performing the first robotic hepatectomy, pancreaticoduodenectomy, total gastrectomy, and hepatic arterial infusion pump placement in the region. He enjoys the unique, case-by-case challenges and the need for multidisciplinary input and collaboration in the management of pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal liver metastases, and peritoneal disease.
