Our Breast Centers provide comprehensive medical care, education, nurse navigation, and support groups.

St. Elizabeth’s breast surgeons can provide you with complete and accurate answers to address all your breast health concerns. Learn more about our breast health team members and how each of them works with you.

Our knowledgeable and experienced surgeons will counsel you on options for breast cancer treatment, as well as provide you with referrals to other appropriate team members. Your surgeon can provide:

  • Surgical biopsies to remove an area of abnormality for pathology analysis (Surgeons identify the tissue to be removed either by palpation, physical examination, or needle localization, an image-guided procedure for locating mass)
  • Lumpectomies to surgically remove a cancerous or pre-cancerous breast lump
  • Mastectomies to remove all breast tissue, the nipple, and possibly lymph nodes
  • Sentinel node biopsies to identify and test lymph nodes that receive the first drainage from a breast tumor
  • Implantation of vascular access devices which allow intravenous medications to be easily delivered and provide access for blood tests
  • Reconstructive surgery to rebuild a breast that has been surgically removed

Your breast health team also provides you with ancillary services, including:

  • Imaging (Mammography, ultrasonography, MRI)
  • High-risk screening
  • Image-guided biopsies
  • Physical therapy
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Social services
  • Support groups
  • Nurse navigation

After breast cancer treatment, your surgeon will continue to follow-up with you on a long-term basis to help monitor and maintain your optimal health. Find one of our board-certified breast surgeons by using our find a provider search tool or call the Breast Centers of St. Elizabeth Healthcare at (859) 301-6262.
